A New Start

Writing is a passion for me. I love to be able to express myself in words. I love to paint but it is much more difficult for me to create an image that tells a thousand words.

I am an avid reader and have been since I was a child. Using my own imagination I started to create my own unique characters and worlds they lived in. I wrote a lot of poetry and short stories. In the last few years I have moved to writing novels. I am in the process of obtaining a Master of Arts in Writing and potentially moving into a PhD after that.

This degree has shown my so much about my writing including the different styles and genres I can use as well as the editing skills needed to write a solid, well framed piece of writing, whether it be an academic essay, a critical analysis or my own creative fiction story.

I have been able to use these skills in my current position as a project officer, researching and writing protocols for the health industry. But now I am moving away from this field to write for my self and help others to write and express themselves.

I like to challenge myself by entering regular writing competitions and have entered multiple stories over the last three years. I have added a section on this site to show some of my work. At this stage they are all works of fiction, I will be using this blog space for reviews and analysis.
